Flat Chested Kitten

Diary of a trial

I*Love*You Chester Chance

13th August 2005 – 19 days of age

It is increadible how Chester is improving. He is wearing his chest support for 5 days now and today signs of improvement on his rib cage are visible. I can hardly believe it and I do not know who is more happy: Chester or me. I realized, that his “leg holes” were somehow a bit tight and therefore I took his chest support off in order to enlargen the holes. I immediately saw that his chest was “smaller” in the shoulder area and it was feeling differently – not like a flat bread – anymore. I can feel a tiny bent which I did not feel before. I needed to put Chester on the ground in order to cut his new support and he started walking at once. He was able to stand without his support and his tummy did not touch the ground anymore!!! He did not manage to do so a couple of days ago.!!!

As well he would have never managed to streatch so much a couple of days ago. This is an increadible progress in such a short time.

His breathing has improved a lot too. He still breathes faster than his siblings but much slower than he did before. For me this is a miracle and I have great hope that Chester will survive.

Today Chester weighs 194 gr

15th August 2005 – 21 days of age

Today I am very depressed and not that euphoristic anymore. Chester is loosing weight and that is no good sign. He is loosing weight even though there are no visible signs for being that reason. –he accepts his power drink and nurses well. In morning his weight was 189 gr.

Today he received his 1st maasage at the physio therapist. He explained thoroughly how to proceed with his rib cage massages. At home he got his suppement and then I put him back to his mum where he fell asleep immediately. In the evening he received his first porridge supplement. I thought that this would put on more weight on him and keeps him “full” for longer.

Because the „Abidec“ drops have not arrived from England yet I decided to give him „Multibionta“ drops instead. He now gets one drop in the morning and one drop in the evening.

For the 1st time Chester had problems with his circulation, so I stabalizd him with special circulation drops.

The feeding times over the way will be shortened on to 1 ½ hours and only smallest amounts which he takes without being forced.

His weight towards 10 pm was a slight improvement of 5 gr. Now he back to 194 gr.

I really have to force myself today not lossing my good will.
